    The National Institute of Health (NIH) seeks community feedback on the next Agency-Wide Strategic Plan . This plan will guide our work over the next five years to fulfill our mission for the American people. Input from the research community, stakeholders, and the public is essential to ensure transparency in what we do and advance the principles of gold standard science that we all apply to our daily work. NIH will hold two webinars to gather input from the research community, stakeholders, and the public on the framework that will inform development of the plan: March 16, 2026 , 12:30 to 1:30 PM ET – Registration Link April 8, 2026 , 2:30 to 3:30 PM ET – Registration Link In this webinar, NIH leadership will introduce the process for developing the next NIH-Wide Strategic Plan, outline the high-level framework and answer attendees’ questions.     Mark your calendars for the NIH Dementia Care and Caregiving Research Summit to be held virtually on March 17-19, 2026. The Summit offers a vital opportunity to reflect on the progress we have made in dementia care and caregiving research, as well as address the persistent and emerging needs of people living with dementia, their care partners, and the communities and health systems that support them. We look forward to engaging with Summit participants as we discuss current science and identify research gaps. The 2026 Dementia Care and Caregiving Research Summit will cover: Economic impacts of dementia Individual and community partnerships for people living with dementia Dementia care and caregiving interventions: advancing rigorous intervention development Dementia care models and care coordination strategies across systems and states Advances in AD/ADRD data infrastructure to support dementia care and caregiving research Sharing lived experiences from people living with dementia, care partners, and family and community members

  • The Emergency Department to Primary Care: Reimagining Dementia Detection with Blood-Based Biomarkers

    the ADACC Network in partnership with the Geriatric Emergency Care Applied Research (GEAR) Network 2.0 – Advancing Dementia Care will be hosting “From the Emergency Department to Primary Care: Reimagining Dementia Detection with Blood-Based Biomarkers” April 9 & 10 in Indianapolis, Indiana. This conference will bring together clinicians, researchers, policymakers, and ethicists to explore how detecting dementia and cognitive impairment can expand beyond traditional memory clinics. Sessions will focus on the role of blood-based biomarkers in emergency settings and address key issues such as clinical utility, diagnostic accuracy, health equity, and the implications of identifying cognitive impairment and dementia during acute care.
