The Eldercare Workforce Alliance (EWA), the American Geriatrics Society (AGS) and the National Association for Geriatric Education (NAGE) is seeking your assistance to contact your Senators, urging them to support the Geriatrics Workforce Improvement Act, a proposal for programs addressing the shortage of geriatrics healthcare professionals, as well as supports for older adults, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary teams responsible for delivering high-quality care.

The bill, introduced by Senators Susan Collins (R-ME) and Bob Casey (D-PA), supports two critical objectives. First, it would formally establish and authorize funding for the Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP). Second, it would reauthorize the Geriatric Academic Career Awards (GACAs), a program that enabled career development for hundreds of clinician-educators.
