Description:

The AGS Annual Meeting Mentor Program matches students, residents and junior faculty with senior geriatrics faculty from across the country. The program mentees have the opportunity to meet with mentors one-on-one during the AGS Annual Meeting and discuss such topics as starting an academic career, locating research funding, learning more about geriatric practice and administration, and balancing career demands with a successful family life.

At the AGS Annual Meeting in 2018, there were over 80 mentees who participated in the program, including medical students interested in the field of geriatrics, residents interested in geriatric fellowships, geriatric fellows contemplating specific research questions and also career advice and junior faculty members interested in mentorship in further career development and advice. Mentors who have participated included experienced geriatric practitioners, administrators, faculty members in divisions of geriatrics who are clinician educators, researchers and experts in specific areas in the field of geriatrics.

Please note: the success of your match is based on how much information you provide in your application. Please ensure that all information provided is accurate. This application also gives you the option to upload a CV.

The application provides the option to request a mentor. You can view the directory of mentors here. (note: we cannot guarantee a specific mentor, and the mentor list is subject to change prior to #AGS19.)
