Inclusive Design of Autonomous Vehicles: A Public Dialogue

The U.S. Access Board, the Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP), ACL, and other agencies have partnered to launch an online platform to facilitate conversation on accessibility for people with disabilities in the design of autonomous (self-driving) vehicles.

Visit the public dialogue platform

Join this important online conversation on accessibility considerations. Submit ideas, comments, and votes on four topics:

  • Accessibility for Passengers with Mobility Disabilities: Entering and Exiting
  • Accessibility for Passengers with Mobility Disabilities: Maneuvering and Securement
  • Accessibility for Passengers with Sensory or Cognitive Disabilities
  • Next Steps for Accessible Designs of Autonomous Vehicles

The dialogue is being held in conjunction with the U.S. Access Board's series of four virtual meetings on making AVs accessible to passengers with disabilities. The meetings are open to the public and will include presentations followed by open dialogue.
