AMA Reimagining Residency Initiative Funding Opportunity

When:  Apr 17, 2019 from 12:08 PM to 01:08 PM (ET)

The AMA’s new $15 million grant program to support GME innovation will build on the success of the Accelerating Change in Medical Education initiative that has created a community of innovation aimed at creating the medical schools of the future.

The success of that initiative (involving $12.5 million in grants awarded to 32 medical schools and impacting 19,000 medical students, who will one day care for 33 million patients each year) has prompted the AMA to now reimagine residency training.

In early January 2019 the AMA will post a Request for Proposals for the Reimagining Residency initiative. Applicants will be solicited from U.S. medical schools, GME programs, GME sponsoring institutions, health systems and other organizations associated with GME. Funding will support bold and innovative projects that promote systemic change in graduate medical education.
