The Wisconsin Update in Geriatric Medicine and Board Review Course is an in-depth, knowledge-based review of the field of Geriatric Medicine.  It is designed for all providers who care for older adults: physicians, physician assistants, nurses and nurse practitioners, pharmacists, psychologists, dieticians, and social workers who wish to provide better care for their patients.
Physicians and other clinicians planning to sit for the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) Examination in Geriatric Medicine (or Re-certification) or comparable examinations for other health disciplines will also benefit from the course, which is jointly provided by the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and the Medical College of Wisconsin.
During the course, participants learn about principles of aging; the clinical approach to the geriatric patient; major syndromes such as dementia, incontinence, falls and metabolic bone disease;  organ-specific diseases that have special import for the geriatric patient; and clinical pearls regarding care for the geriatric population.
